Winter Blues

Winter Blues was painted in a loose and impressionistic style. I love to paint 'wet into wet' flooding the paper with water first and then letting the paint flow and merge. Whilst still damp paint can be lifted out with a sable brush to reveal more highlights and the finishing details are added once everything has dried. I wanted to capture the mood and atmosphere of this scene and this technique helped me to re-create this moment perfectly.
